The 64 Network Campaign

Supporting local leaders to make a change.

The 64 Network Campaign builds the power and capacity of the people in the state of Louisiana, especially formerly incarcerated women, to lead powerful and dynamic movements for social change. O2R will identify, support and organize 1-2 community leaders in all 64 parishes through a statewide organizing campaign. The goal is to develop a political and electoral strategy and build a network that advances a shared policy agenda.

Measurable objectives

Provide technical assistance to 1-2 community leaders in each parish on a range of electoral capacities, including but not limited to: list management, plan writing, goal setting, targeting, budgeting and building a field infrastructure.

  • Train 64 to 132 community leaders per year to advance their understanding and use of electoral tools and strategies in the context of community organizing.

  • Monitor demographic and political trends related to voting and civic participation to create and share reports to inform the campaign’s strategy.

O2R will recruit, hire and employ a formerly incarcerated woman as the Campaign Organizer to lead The 64 and ensure objectives are met. This position will track the national landscape related to electoral organizing, including the development of best practices identified by other national organizations and networks, national constituency organizations, election protection organizations, and allies in the labor, faith, and civil rights arena.
